Maria Zakharova hopes Baku and Yerevan will prefer Russia's peace initiatives to those of the West
Baku/01.03.23/Turan: Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed hope that peace initiatives worked out together with Russia will be implemented in the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. She said this in an interview with "Radio Sputnik" on March 1.
"There is hope that the peace initiatives, which have been developed by the parties together with Russia, will be implemented," she said.
Zakharova called attempts by the West to infiltrate the situation in the South Caucasus as "boorish. This is being done not to resolve the conflict, but with "opposite goals".
"Unfortunately, we have been observing this trend for many years. Now the Westerners have become even more active," she added.
"No one can say that somewhere where a foot, or a hand, or a thought of the collective West has been, it has become better," Zakharova stressed. -02D-
