Authorities about appearance of Bakhtiyar Hajiyev's personal correspondence on social media
Baku/01.03.23/Turan: In recent days, personal photos and correspondence of arrested activist Bakhtiar Hajiyev with several women have appeared on social networks.
Colleagues and relatives of the activist claim that this information was stolen and posted on the Internet from Bakhtiar's phone after his arrest.
The authorities have so far failed to answer the question of who put Hajiyev's personal details on social media, and have not provided a legal assessment of this.
At the same time, clumsy attempts are being made to put the blame on Bakhtiyar Hajiyev himself. Thus, the Interior Ministry has reported today that complaints have been received from several women whose correspondence with Bakhtiyar Hajiyev appeared in social networks.
It ougjht to be noted that similar provocations have been previously arranged against many social activists and opposition activists in order to discredit them.
"The authorities were required to launch an investigation, but this has not been done. There will be an appeal to the prosecutor's office to investigate those criminal acts," Rufat Safarov, head of the "Defence Line" human rights organisation, told Turan news agency.
He said that in this case not only Bakhtiar is a victim, but many other people whose reputation and well-being of their families is affected.
"Bakhtiar has been under arrest since December, how could he spread anything on the Internet? His personal details were stolen and made public precisely to discredit and compromise him," he stressed. -02B-
