Mass Detentions of Musavat Members
Baku / 12.11.19 / Turan: On the morning of November 12, a number of Musavat party activists were detained and taken to the police station, the head of the organization’s apparatus, Gulaga Aslanli, told Turan.
In particular, the chairman of the Siyazan district organization of Musavat Mardan Mehdili, the head of the Khatai district organization Gazanfar Bahyshov, and the activist of the Narimanov organization Valeh Gummatoglu were taken away from their homes.
For already a day there is no information about the fate of the deputy chairman of the party, Razim Amiraslanli, who was called on the morning of November 11 to the Binagadi district police department.
Calls do not reach the phone of the spokesman for the Musavat party, Mustafa Hajibeyli, who left the house in the morning. Aslanli believes that Hajibeyli was detained along the way.
In Sumgayit, police came to the apartment of activist Barshad Jumshudlu. In Ganja, the Musavatists Jahangir Amirkhanli, Vidadi Hasanli and Oktay Zeynalov were ordered to report to the police by 10.00.
Aslanli believes that the mass detentions are aimed at disrupting today's Musavat picket in front of the Baku Executive Power at 15.00.
In turn, the leader of Musavat Arif Hajili said that since the morning of November 12, police and people in civilian clothes have actually cordoned off the party’s headquarters. “Arrivals at the headquarters are immediately delayed,” Hajili said. —21B06--
