Media Development Agency in the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan
The Media Development Agency issued a statement in which it denied the reports of a number of media outlets about Azerbaijan. "Recently, media resources in some countries, citing dubious sources, have been spreading disinformation about Azerbaijan aimed at misleading local and international audiences," the agency said in a statement. In particular, they point to reports by Iran International TV channel, the Telegraph and Kan TV channel that allowed "information manipulation about Azerbaijan that is incompatible with international standards of journalism."
In particular, the "disinformation" is refuted that Israel allegedly banned its military personnel from staying in Azerbaijan. "We declare that there is no military contingent of any foreign state on the territory of Azerbaijan, and strongly condemn information manipulation based on false reports about this," the Azerbaijani Media Development Agency said.
The agency urges the public to trust only information from official sources, and journalists and public activists not to succumb and not to replicate fakes.
