Meeting between Mammadyarov and Nuland
Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov in the framework of the UN General Assembly in New York met with Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland.
As the press service of the Foreign Ministry said, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and mutual visits. They also touched upon the Karabakh conflict settlement, as well as issues causing mutual interest.
Recall two days ago President Barack Obama criticized Azerbaijan for the suppression of civil society. However, the topic was not mentioned by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. -03D-

Journalist Nargiz Abaslamova, held in Baku's Detention Center No. 1, was subjected to violence by a guard. While passing by the cell of her colleague Sevinj Vagifgizi, Abaslamova tried to greet her, reported on Abzas Media's Facebook page. However, guard Aygul Babaeva forcibly dragged Abaslamova away and deeply scratched the journalist's arm. Abaslamova stated that this is not the first time the mentioned guard has used force and been rude to journalists. A few days ago, Babaeva also used force against Sevinj Vagifgizi.
