Military Prosecutor's Office continues investigation into massacre of civilians in Baganis Ayrym village
Baku/24.03.23/Turan: 18 people have been put on international wanted list in connection with the March 24, 1990 massacre of residents of Baganis Ayrym village of Gazakh region of Azerbaijan by Armenian armed groups. This was reported by Firad Aliyev, senior assistant and head of press service of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan.
He reminded that on March 24, 1990, illegal Armenian armed formations invaded the Baganis Ayrym village of Gazakh region from different directions with military equipment and fired on the population of the village.
As a result, 10 people were killed with particular cruelty, including three women and an infant. Two people were wounded in varying degrees of severity.
Note that twelve houses were looted and burnt, and 438 villagers expelled from their homes.
During investigation of the criminal case, 18 persons were involved as the accused under Articles 103 (genocide) and 107 (deportation or forcible transfer of population) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan and their guilt in committing these crimes was proved. These persons have been put on the international wanted list through Interpol.
Today marks the 33rd anniversary of this crime. To remind, Baganis Ayrym village and 7 other villages of Gazakh region are still under Armenian occupation. -06В-
