Mirziyoyev sees the solution of the Palestinian issue in the implementation of the principle of "two states for two peoples"
Baku/03.11.23/Turan: At the X Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a loud appeal for peace and humanitarian respite in the protracted Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which cast a shadow over the Middle East.
According to Kazinform, Mirziyoyev sounded the alarm in connection with the growing crisis of confidence in the world arena and the emergence of serious challenges to global security.
The President expressed deep concern over the dangerous nature of the long-standing Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He lamented the devastating consequences of the ongoing armed clashes, especially for the most vulnerable members of society – the elderly, women and children, whose lives were tragically turned upside down as a result of violence. Mirziyoyev stressed the growing threat of a broader escalation of the conflict, a terrible prospect that casts a shadow on the region and is reflected on a global scale.
In response to these alarming events, Mirziyoyev issued a call for an immediate cessation of hostilities, a cease-fire and the establishment of a truce motivated by humanitarian considerations. His passionate appeal was aimed at alleviating the suffering of those caught in the crossfire and creating the conditions necessary for dialogue and reconciliation.
In addition, President Mirziyoyev referred to the principle of "two states for two peoples" as a fair basis on which the settlement of the conflict should be built. He stressed that the people of Palestine have a legitimate right, recognized in UN resolutions, to establish an independent state. Within the framework of the OTS, President Mirziyoyev called for a unified and unshakable position on this issue, which would resonate throughout the world and would testify to the organization's commitment to a principled, just and peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
President Mirziyoyev's sharp and principled speech at the OTS summit underlines the seriousness of the situation in the Middle East and the urgent need for diplomatic efforts to establish a lasting and just peace. His call for humanitarian assistance and the united position within the organization serve as a convincing evidence of the commitment of the Turkic peoples to strengthening stability and harmony in the region and beyond.--0--
