Baku/17.03.22/Turan: More than 7,000 Russian servicemen have been killed in the war in Ukraine since February 24, "The New York Times" reported, citing U.S. intelligence. This is more than the number of U.S. soldiers killed in 20 years of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
According to the same source, between 14,000 and 21,000 Russian soldiers were wounded. In all, more than 150,000 servicemen take part in the war on the part of Russia.
According to sources in the Pentagon, the growing number of losses might affect the combat spirit of the Russian army.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported one fatality on March 2, admitting the deaths of 498 servicemen and previously 1,597.
For its part, the Ukrainian side claims the deaths of more than 13,000 Russian servicemen. Among them, at least 4 generals. Ukrainian military losses amounted to 1,300 killed. -02D-
