MP suggests Fizuli Alekperov to resign
At today's meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament, MP Zahid Oruc proposed that Social Security Minister Fizuli Alekperov resign "without any noise".
"Officials that do not earn the confidence of the president and allow improper handling of funds allocated to social security should resign," said the deputy representing the pro-government party "Fatherland." He mentioned as examples the Education Minister, who resigned because of plagiarism, and the Pope, who left for health reasons. In his opinion, guilty officials should leave their posts and not interfere with State policy.
Fizuli Alekperov is the brother of Nizami Alekperov, recently dismissed Chief Executive of the Ismayilli region. On January 23-24, riots occurred in the Ismailli region because the local population is fed up with the activities of the authorities. -17D-
