Musavat Party to Take Part in Early Parliamentary Elections
Baku / 07.12.19 / Turan: The Musavat party will take part in the extraordinary parliamentary elections scheduled for February 9, 2020. This decision was made today by the session of the Supreme Majlis of the party.
“After lengthy discussions, we came to the conclusion that participation in the elections in the current socio-political situation would be in the interests of the people. By a majority of votes, a decision was made on the party’s participation in the extraordinary parliamentary elections,” said Musavat leader Arif Hajili.
Another opposition party, the Republican Alternative, also announced its participation in the elections.
The National Council of Democratic Forces and the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan have not yet decided on whether or not to participate in the parliamentary elections. —06D-

On November 13, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Afghan Taliban held talks in Baku as part of the COP29 conference. According to a report by Turan correspondent, the discussions took place behind closed doors and lasted for over an hour. No statements were made to the press following the meeting. Furthermore, conference security prevented journalists from asking questions to the meeting participants.
