Musavat Unhappy with National Council Situation?
The National Council of the Democratic Forces survived a crisis, due to the fact that the behavior of "some forces" does not match the essence of the National Council. Turan was advised of this by Arif Hajili, head of the central apparatus of the Musavat party.
According to Hajili, some of the forces that are part of the National Assembly forget that this structure was established on the basis of associative membership of consensus by decision-making parties. At yesterday’s meeting of the National Assembly, Hajili said that these general rules were violated, particularly in the electoral process of the honorary chair of the structure and other issues.
According to Hajili, discussions within the elementary structure has become a problem. In such circumstances, questions arise whether Musavat will continue its activities within the National Council.
It is necessary to achieve unity among the National Council with forces whose ideological and political lines are close for there to be effective political action. Otherwise , the National Council will be in constant crisis, he said.
At yesterday's meeting of the National Council, Jamil Hasanli was elected chair and Rustam Ibrahimbeyov became an honorary chair. In addition, they adopted policy documents and the application of the National Council, which brings together leading opposition forces.
During the discussions and voting, Musavat leader disagreed with Rustam Ibrahimbekov becoming an honorary chair of the National Council.
They are motivated by the fact that he has a "foreign nationality" and "commitment to a foreign state," however, they did not explain the nature of those commitments.
Leaders of Musavat did not respond to the question of why they supported the candidacy of Ibrahimbekov for president of Azerbaijan, if he was a foreign citizen. -05B04-
