NAP Complaint of Radio Azadlig
The party New Azerbaijan appealed to CEC with a complaint of Radio Azadlig, information of which is called "an illegal election propaganda campaign," the press service of the ruling party stated.
The authorized representative of the NAP, Ali Akhmedov, sent the CEC a letter. He believes that Radio Azadlig has violated requirements of the Electoral Code and on the radio’s Internet page, a special topic has been set up: "Elections 2013" where there is a subheading "Know the candidate."
The writer believes that the radio has seriously violated the professional code and requirements of the law and that it’s broadcasts are campaigning in favor of a particular candidate.
He recalls that Radio Azadlig’s webpage indicates that it is funded by the U.S. Congress and is a non-profit organization, having an obligation not to conduct any agitation or propaganda. The radio must not lobby for political or legislative decisions or support the positions of candidates appointed or elected, or lead a campaign against them. -16D04-
