New Bridge Opened on Azerbaijani-Russian Border
Baku / 24.12.19 / Turan: The ceremony of putting into operation a new automobile bridge across the Samur River was held at the Azerbaijani-Russian border on Tuesday.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin and the head of Dagestan Vladimir Vasiliev.
As Musafayev noted, the introduction of a new bridge will help strengthen ties between peoples and increase trade. The bridge is also an important part of the North-South project.
An important link in the same project will be the new Baku-Russian border road. Its construction will be completed soon.
According to Mustafayev, for 11 months of this year, freight traffic along the North-South route increased by 60%, and along the East-West route - by 53%.
In turn, Oreshkin noted that the growth rate of trade with Azerbaijan amounted to 25% this year. “We have no such growth rates with any country,” Oreshkin emphasized.
The length of the new bridge is 325.3 m, the width is 17.3 m, and the construction cost in the Azerbaijani territory is 36.5 million manats (21.5 million dollars). -06D-
