New Head of USAID Office in Baku Meets with Public
The residence of the US Ambassador in Baku on September 28 hosted a meeting of representatives of the public and the media of the country with the new head of the USAID (United States Agency for International Development) in Azerbaijan Michaela Meredis.
US Ambassador Robert Cekuta informed the participants about the activities of Mrs. Meredis. In particular, he noted that she served in USAID already eight years.
So far, USAID has provided assistance to Azerbaijan in the amount of $ 1.5 billion. USAID and the Government of Azerbaijan support the Development Concept Azerbaijan 2020: a Look into the Future.
Michaela Meredis noted in her speech that she had been present in Azerbaijan for only a month, but she witnessed the development of the country. For sustainable development it is very important to provide democratic, social and economic reforms. According to her, USAID is ready to continue cooperation with the Azerbaijani government. -22B-
