New US Ambassador Robert Secuta Arrives in Baku
New US Ambassador Robert Secuta during his mission looks forward to further strengthening of relations between America and Azerbaijan. He said this to Azerbaijani journalists in the evening on February 12 immediately upon arrival at the airport in Baku.
He said that he is "pleased to be in Baku." The Ambassador's wife will arrive soon.
Secuta said he was looking forward to presenting credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.
After the presentation of credentials the Ambassador intends to tour the regions of the country.
"I want to hear the views of the people and I want to know people's opinions on important issues between the two countries and areas of cooperation, in which our states may be involved. I am confident that, on the basis of these meetings, we can build even stronger relations, strengthening mutual understanding and respect between our countries," the diplomat said.
He spoke in Azeri. The ambassador promised to give an interview after the presentation of his credentials. -06D-
