Novruz Celebration at Residence of US Ambassador
Yesterday the residence of the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta held a festive event on the occasion of the Novruz holiday.
The Ambassador's residence was decorated with Azerbaijani carpets and festive trays of sweet treats. On the carpets there were ancient handicraft items made of copper and an essential attribute of Novruz – samani (young wheat plants).
Ambassador Robert Cekuta, according to the tradition of Novruz, took part in the "egg fights."
He noted that the Novruz holiday means new life, renewal and revival.
"I hope that this spring will bring the US-Azerbaijani relations a new breath and will contribute to the development of our relations," he said.
After his speech, the event continued with musical performances.
Ambassador Cekuta jumped over the bonfire together with others. -03C-

The disruption, marking the end of a decade-long transit route, is expected to heighten competition in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market and drive up prices for alternative energy sources.
