Ordinary of Catholic Church about Pope`s Visit to Baku
Discussions during the Pope’s meetings in Baku will be the signal for the peaceful settlement of conflicts in the world, said the Ordinary of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan, Vladimir Fekete.
Fekete noted that the Pope's policy is aimed at peace, equality and brotherhood in the world, and not by chance the motto of his visit to Azerbaijan and Georgia is, ‘We are all brothers.’
‘The Vatican takes Azerbaijan as a tolerant country. The current visit of the Pope will promote a very high level of relations with Azerbaijan,’ he said.
Fekete noted that at present it is difficult to predict how many people will take part in the Mass by the Pope. The local Catholic Church can simultaneously accept 400 people.
Therefore, the executive branch of the Khatai district is requested to close the road between the shopping center Amay and the church so that the visitors could watch the Mass on the big screen in the street.
Recall that Pope Francis from September 30 to October 2 will make an apostolic visit to Georgia and Azerbaijan. According to the program, the Pope will arrive in Baku on October 2.
After the Mass, he plans a lunch with the brothers of the Salesian Society. Next, the Pope will meet with the Azerbaijani President. The program also includes the Pope's visit to the Alley of Martyrs and meetings at the Heydar Aliyev Center and with the leaders of religious communities of Azerbaijan. -71C-
