Participant of first Karabakh war detained in Karabakh
Baku/02.11.23/Turan: The State Security Service of Azerbaijan reported the detention of Madat Babayan near the village of Gozlukerpu (former Getavan), on the territory of Kalbajar.
The interrogation established that he took an active part in the fighting in the early 90s as part of illegal Armenian formations against Azerbaijanis. In particular, he was among those who participated in the occupation of the city of Khojaly in February 1992 and the mass killings of its residents.
Note that Babayan showed the places of mass graves of the victims of the Khojaly massacre, confirmed the facts of mockery of the corpses of civilians and torture of prisoners. At present, the investigation is ongoing to verify the compliance of Babayan's testimony with the real facts. -02B-

It is difficult to predict the future of Azerbaijan-U.S. relations under Donald Trump, said Ali Kerimli, leader of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (PFPA), in an interview with Turan agency. "Since Trump's team has not yet been formed, it is unclear who will be appointed Secretary of State, who is responsible for foreign policy. It is also unclear what priorities Trump's team will have for the Caucasus region," Kerimli noted. At the same time, certain assumptions can be made about Trump's policy.
