Pashinyan's family newspaper publishes an article about Russia's insidious plans
Baku/04.10.22/Turan: Russia wants the same thing from Armenia that it wants from Ukraine, namely, that Armenia become part of the Russia-Belarus union state. In the case of Ukraine, Moscow is using Russian and Belarusian troops, and in the case of Armenia, it is using Russian troops stationed in Azerbaijan and Armenia, an editorial published on October 4 in the "Haykakan Zhamanak" newspaper, the editor of which Anna Hakobyan is the wife of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Moscow seeks to show the vulnerability of Armenia so that it asks to join the Russia-Belarus union state. This explains the inactivity of the Russian military base in Armenia against the background of the aggressiveness of Azerbaijan and the disruption in the supply of weapons from Russia to Armenia.
In Karabakh, Russia needs the conflict to remain unresolved in order to use it as a lever of pressure on Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The reason for the 44-day war is that Russia could no longer maintain the status quo due to the growing role of Turkey and the need to open transport routes through Azerbaijan to Turkey, which has become Russia's main trading partner.
Moscow is the main stakeholder in the corridor through Armenian territory and wants it under its control. The importance of this transport corridor has increased after the failures in Ukraine, so the role of Turkey and Azerbaijan for Russian transit has increased dramatically, including the export of gas and oil to the EU countries, the article says. --02D--
