Peace treaty should not mention Karabakh - Alen Simonyan
Baku/14.10.22/ Turan:On Friday , after a meeting with the Karabakh delegation, the speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan told the journalists that the future peace treaty Armenia and Azerbaijan should not mention that Karabakh will not be part of Azerbaijan.
He explained the need for this by saying that “Armenia has never had any territorial claims against Azerbaijan, and the mention of territories will only complicate and, possibly, nullify a possible treaty being concluded. My personal opinion is that this should not be done,” Simonyan said. When asked what will happen to Karabakh, he said that Yerevan offers Karabakh to "independently participate in all discussions."
According to him, “Azerbaijan is in constant direct contact with the Karabakh authorities. There are even cases when the Karabakh authorities are more informed than we are,” Simonyan said. ---02D---
