“The statements of the Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia about the status of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, without realizing the essence of the issue, are unacceptable,” Hajiyev said.
He also disavowed the words of the ambassador in connection with the downed Russian helicopter on November 9.
"In connection with the tragic event associated with a helicopter belonging to the Russian Armed Forces, on November 9, a telephone conversation took place between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia, Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin," Hajiyev said.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry issued a relevant statement, and the General Prosecutor's Office opened a criminal case in connection with this accidental tragedy. A telephone conversation took place between the Prosecutors General of Azerbaijan and Russia, in which the course of the investigation was discussed. Earlier, the ambassador, commenting on the helicopter crash in an interview with RBC, called the incident a tragic accident, but noted that anything can happen in a war. “In war as in war - anything can happen,” the diplomat said.
In addition, on November 12, at an online briefing, Bulbul Oglu announced the possibility of granting cultural autonomy to the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
