Police Stopped Action of Islamists Opposite Israeli Embassy
Reinforced police stopped the rally of Islamists to the Israeli embassy in Baku this morning.
The group of believers came to the embassy with the aim to protest against the "occupation of Al Gods (Jerusalem)”.
As Turan reported from the scene, police completely blocked the traffic towards the embassy on both sides, not passing absolutely anyone. At the same time, more than 20 believers were detained and brought to Police Stations 26 and 27. Among them were also the deputy chairmen of the Islamic Party Elchin Manafov, Akif Heydarli and Vugar Ibayev.
The journalists were also treated in an extremely undiplomatic way and driven away from the venue by the police.
The world Al Gods Day is traditionally celebrated by the Islamists, who demand the liberation of Jerusalem from the occupation. The initiative belongs to the spiritual leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini. -03B-
