President and Prime Minister of Azerbaijan congratulated Zelensky on Independence Day of Ukraine
Baku/24.08.23/Turan: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to President of Ukraine Volodimir Zelensky on the occasion of the national holiday of this country - Independence Day on August 24.
"The current high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine is due to the historically established traditions of close friendship and mutual respect between our peoples. It is gratifying that our interstate relations, stemming from this will and built on a solid foundation, are developing dynamically thanks to our joint efforts and are entering a new stage. I believe that Azerbaijani-Ukrainian relations will continue to develop in accord with the goals and objectives as set forth in the Joint Declaration that we signed during my visit to Ukraine in January last year," President Aliyev's message reads.
Azerbaijan respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states, including Ukraine, being committed to the UN Charter, norms and principles of international law.
"We always pay attention to the issues of humanitarian assistance to the people of Ukraine and are ready to provide the necessary assistance in the future. I am confident that in accord with the interests of our peoples, we will consistently continue joint efforts to expand friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, strengthen our mutually beneficial cooperation," the message of congratulations reads.
In turn, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov sent a congratulatory letter to the head of the Government of Ukraine Denis Shmigal. It notes that the traditional friendly relations and effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine will continue to develop and expand successfully in accord with the interests of the peoples and states of the two countries. -03B-
