President Ilham Aliyev congratulates people on Gurban Bayrama holiday
President Ilham Aliyev congratulated people on the occasion of Gurban Bayram.
In his address the head of state noted that "religious holidays, including sacrifice ceremonies, become a celebration of national-spiritual unity, goodness and mercy in Azerbaijani society". "On these blessed festive days, wide charitable actions and social assistance activities are held in all corners of our country, the immortal memory of our shehids is honoured with respect," the President's address further underlines.
He wished citizens acceptance by the Almighty of their prayers and sacrifices, well-being and prosperity.

Abulfaz Imamaliyev, a member of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, and Jamil Hajiyev, a public activist, who were detained before the Baku Court for Serious Crimes, were released after being fined. They were detained on June 21 in front of the courthouse when the trial of opposition politician Tofig Yagublu was underway. The units of the Azerbaijani army have taken adequate retaliatory measures. According to the Armenian Defense Ministry, there was no firefight in the indicated direction.
