Pro-government NGOs Work off Funds Invested in Them
On Wednesday, the NGO Alliance for Cooperation, (pro-government), held a roundtable for the next anniversary of January 20 at the International Press Center.
Alliance board member, Vugar Gadirov, only said he was calling January 20 "people's heroism." Then he brought up the Karabakh conflict, accusing international organizations effort to give Azerbaijani lands to Armenia.
He also accused the world's leading countries, including Russia, of attempting to
prevent the strengthening of Azerbaijan’s military power.
"West Azerbaijan pressures us because we are a Muslim country," he said, and began to condemn international organizations who called Ilham Aliyev "a corrupt man of the year."
"This is the pressure on the president of Azerbaijan, who wants to integrate the country into the European Union and who is developing the principles of democracy" said Vugar Gadirov.
Referring to the youth protest action on January 12, against the death of a soldier in the army, he criticized the organizers. According to him, many people die in road accidents, but they do not make protest actions?
According to Vugar Gadirov, rallies similar to the protest on January 12, contribute to the fact that "the Azerbaijani lands remain under occupation."
MP Khanhuseyn Kazimli reminded that in 2005, he prepared materials about events on January 20 in the Russian press.
Continuing "rapid" response to the events of 1990, he noted that photos of Heydar Aliyev, Putin and Aliyev were placed in the materials. He could not explain why he told about it.
Kazimli called on refugees to appeal to the European Court claiming their property in Armenia, but participants reminded the deputy, that in 1998 the "national leader" liquidated refugee status for Armenian immigrants.
Regulators reduced the time for other speakers to speak to 1-3 minutes, so it was unclear what they wanted to say. -05С04-
