Prosecutor General honors the memory of Heydar Aliyev in Iran
Baku/30.08.22/Turan:The Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev arrived in Tehran on a working visit at the invitation of the Prosecutor General of Iran Mohammed Jafar Montazeri. During the meeting, the parties dicussed issues of cooperation between prosecutorial bodies of the two countries, the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan reports. Aliyev thanked the Iranian side for moral support to Azerbaijan during the Second Karabakh War.
An exchange of ideas on cooperation in the legal sphere and the importance of bilateral cooperation was emphasized; issues of protecting the rights of citizens of both countries, border, customs, environmental and humanitarian issues were discussed.
The problems of drug trafficking, legal assistance in criminal cases, extradition and transfer of convicts were also discussed. Kamran Aliyev invited his Iranian counterpart to Baku. It was proposed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between our institutions.
During the trip, Kamran Aliyev also met with Iranian Justice Minister Amin Hossein Rahimi. The sides also touched upon issues of extradition, transfer of convicts and other topics.
As part of the visit, the Prosecutor General visited the embassy of our country in Tehran, honoring the memory of Heydar Aliyev, the report says. -0-
