However, he also declared that Putin is "destroying Russia" by refusing to make peace and end the war in Ukraine.
"I think he is destroying Russia by not making a deal," Trump said to reporters at the White House. "I think Russia is going to have big problems," he added. According to Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to make a deal to end the war.
Trump also announced that the U.S. would be leaving the World Health Organization (WHO), and he stated that the U.S. would withdraw from green energy projects.
