Putin prepares to meetings in Baku
Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Baku on 12-13 June, where he will attend the opening ceremony of the European Games, will have talks with President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Erdogan, said presidential assistant Yury Ushakov.
The Russian leader will leave for Baku immediately after the reception in the Kremlin, dedicated to the national holiday. In the evening on 12 June, he will participate in the opening ceremony of the European game at 21:00.
Negotiations of Putin and Aliyev are scheduled for 13 June. The sides will discuss trade and economic issues and the Karabakh problem, as well as the implementation of the decisions of the 4th Caspian Summit in Astrakhan.
Meeting of Putin with the Turkish President Erdogan is planned for Saturday, during which the presidents will discuss the situation in Syria and joint projects in the energy sector, said the president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
He called this meeting important. Russia and Turkey are very important partners in various fields. Therefore, every time the agenda is very extensive.
"It will be necessary to exchange views on the difficult situation in the region: the situation in Syria and the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as working together on large projects," said the spokesman.
Important is the question on signing agreement on the gas pipeline "Turkish Stream" and the issuance of permits by Ankara for the construction of the pipeline. Recently, however, this project was blocked. -02D-
