"Reporters without borders" demanded to investigate the attack on a reporter in Azerbaijan
Baku/07.05.20/Turan: “In Azerbaijan, a reporter Zaur Gambarov was beaten up by the head of the Gadabay branch of the State Social Protection Fund and his driver. The reason for the attack became a video about the poor distribution of aid during the COVID19 pandemic. The incident must be investigated. No to impunity!”, is written on the reporter’s account for Reporters Without Borders, an international press organization.
The incident happened on May 4. A reporter came to the district department of the State Social Security Fund to investigate complaints from citizens. However, he was attacked by the head of the department E. Khudaverdiev and his driver I. Galandarov. The reason for the attack is a critical video on the distribution of humanitarian assistance during the pandemic. -02B-

On November 26, the Baku Court of Appeals reviewed the appeal of human rights defender Anar Mammadli, who contested the extension of his detention.
