Russia is increasing its military presence in Armenia
Yerevan/26.09.13/Turan-ArmInfo: Russia is increasing its military presence in Armenia, reports the newspaper, Haykakan Zhamanak, citing its own sources.
The publication states that in the near future, the 102nd Russian military base in Gumri will face serious replenishment. So, 2,500-3,000 military personnel and their families are expected to arrive.
Located in Gumri, "the eighth town" has already started to create space for the new settlers, and soon dozens of Armenian families will be resettled.
"Thus, on the one hand, Russia is selling weapons to Azerbaijan, and on the other it is increasing its military presence in Armenia, including the intention to defend against its own weapons," the newspaper noted ironically . -02D-
