On 11-12 July, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay a working visit to Azerbaijan. "We consider the forthcoming negotiations in the context of the continuation of the development of the Russian-Azerbaijani political dialogue,” the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.
During the meetings held in Baku the sides will discuss topical issues on the bilateral agenda and exchange views on the Karabakh conflict settlement in the development of the agreements reached at the recent summits in Vienna and St. Petersburg.
"Azerbaijan is our important strategic partner in the South Caucasus and the Caspian region. We build relations with Azerbaijan on the basis of equality, respect for each other's interests and good neighborly relations," the report says.
Moscow attaches great importance to the expansion of trade, economic and humanitarian relations, the preservation and development of spiritual communication between the peoples of Russia and Azerbaijan.
"Together with the Azerbaijani colleagues we are preparing for the upcoming V Baku International Humanitarian Forum on September 29, which will be held under the patronage of the Presidents of our two countries," the statement says. -16D-
