SCO offers Azerbaijan partner status
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is going to provide Azerbaijan dialogue partner status. This opinion was expressed by Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev on the results of today's meeting with colleagues in the SCO, ITAR-TASS reported.
"We discussed the course of consideration of applications for admission in India, Iran and Pakistan, as well as proposals to grant observer status to Belarus and Azerbaijan and Armenia - dialogue partner status. Our opinion will be brought to the SCO heads of state," said the secretary of the Russian Security Council.
SCO is standing regional international association established June 15, 2001 in Shanghai. The current members of the SCO are Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Have observer status, Afghanistan, India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan, "dialogue partners" are Belarus, Turkey and Sri Lanka. -06В-
