Secretary General of the Council of Europe is waiting for an explanation for the arrest of Mammadov and Yagublu
In connection with the arrests of two civic activists - Ilgar Mamedov and Tofig Yagublu, Turan appealed to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Turborn Jagland and requested to express his attitude to it.
In his response received from Strasbourg, it is said: "The Council of Europe is closely following the issue. Secretary General Jagland is concerned with the developments and has therefore requested the Azerbaijani authorities to provide information about the arrests."
Sources in Strasbourg stressed that a detailed response may be expressed after receiving and studying the response of Baku. -02B-
