Senate panel backs Litzenberger to be U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan
Washington/14.12.18/Turan: The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Thursday unanimously backed Earle Litzenberger and Lynne Tracy to be the next ambassadors to Azerbaijan and Armenia, clearing the way for their likely approval by the full Senate, TURAN's Washington correspondent reports.
A vote by the full Senate on Litzenberger"s confirmation has been scheduled for Monday, Dec 17th.
"Amb. Litzenberger's nomination - along with many others' - is already on the Executive Calendar awaiting floor consideration," a congressional source told TURAN.
