Separatists illegally build road through Azerbaijani villages of Shusha region
Baku/25.03.22/Turan: Separatists in Karabakh have begun illegally laying a road through Azerbaijani villages of the Shusha region to carry out military transportation, the press service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense reported.
Note that illegal Armenian armed formations continue their illegal activities on the territory of Azerbaijan, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily deployed, a military press release said.
"A fact of laying a new road Khankendi-Khansalar-Mirzyalar-Turshsu to the north of Khankendi-Khalfali-Turshsu road with the involvement of engineering and special equipment was established with the purpose of military transportation to the combat positions of illegal Armenian armed formations," the statement reads.
The implementation of illegal activities by the Armenian side in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan is a gross violation of the provisions of the trilateral statement (of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia, dated 10 November 2023). These actions, as well as the failure of the peacekeeping contingent to fulfil its obligations, create preconditions for rising tensions in the region, the Azerbaijani defence ministry said in a press release.
It should be recalled that the military and political leadership of official Yerevan bears full responsibility for the possible losses that may be caused by such provocations and illegal actions, the military release concluded.
It has to be kept in mind that Qosalar, Mirzyalar, Khalfali, Turshsu are the villages of Shusha region that were populated by the Azerbaijanis evicted from their native lands by Armenians until the early 1990s. -06-

Armenia is not against the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group, but does not consider it appropriate to discuss this issue now. "In the context of peace, we consider it possible to make a decision on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group. When peace is an established fact, the existence of such a format may raise questions," Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference today. "The whole question is about the timing, we need to understand how effectively and correctly to turn such topics into a subject of discussion right now," the Armenian Prime Minister added.

On August 31, Azerbaijan observes a "day of silence" before the Sunday’s early parliamentary elections for the unicameral Milli Majlis. All electoral campaigning is prohibited 24 hours before the voting. The early elections were initiated by the ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party. This decision was motivated by the overlap of the scheduled elections in November with the global UN forum - the COP20 climate conference taking place in Baku.

On August 30, at approximately 22:55, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant in Metsamor was disconnected from the country's power grid, as reported by the Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. The shutdown was caused by a lightning strike, which triggered the plant's safety systems to switch the station to a safe shutdown mode. Currently, the plant's staff is working on restarting the facility.
