Sheikh Pashazadeh on Proposed Meeting with Gareghin II
The Head of Caucasus Muslims Sheikh Allahshukur Pashazadeh said that his meeting with Armenian Catholic Gareghin II could take place only on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia. "The Armenian side’s reports about the possibility of such a meeting on the frontline or in the Karabakh region do not correspond to reality," Pashazadeh told Turan about his proposed meeting with the Armenian Catholics.
He noted that the idea of holding a meeting of religious leaders of the two countries was launched last week by the representative of the Armenian Church in Georgia during the celebrations to mark the anniversary of the Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II.
Although he does not object in principle to such a meeting, Pashazadeh stressed that it could be done only on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia. -05B06 –
