Slovak Foreign Minister Attends Opening of His Country's Embassy in Baku
Baku / 28.11.19 / Turan: Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak today attended the opening ceremony of the Slovak Embassy in Azerbaijan.
Today, he met with the head of state Ilham Aliyev, during which issues of bilateral relations, the chairmanship of Slovakia in the OSCE, measures and steps to resolve the Karabakh conflict within the OSCE were discussed.
In an interview with reporters during the embassy's opening ceremony, Lajcak welcomed the recent mutual visits of journalists from Azerbaijan and Armenia. He called it a positive step that improves the atmosphere and reduces tension. “I believe that this will open the way for a political solution, and the Slovak Chairmanship will contribute to the resolution of the conflict,” he said. -02D-
