Tanker "Naphthalan" carried oil under the guise of fuel

On July 31, the Russian FSB in Dagestan with support  of border guard ships in the Caspian Sea have detained the tanker "Naphthalan" under the Azerbaijani flag with contraband cargo of crude oil. The ship was going from the Makhachkala port to the Azerbaijani port "Sangachal" and belongs to the Azerbaijani state company "Caspar." According to the customs documents, there was a tanker with mazut and total weight 4.5 tons.

However, according to the documents submitted by the captain of the tanker, and according to the results of the laboratory analysis, there was low-sulphur oil on board. The oil was extracted  by the JSC "NC" Lukoil"" in Astrakhan shelf  of the Caspian, and was designed  shelf designed for pumping in the main oil pipeline "Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline." The average market price of oil is 45 million rubles.

A law suit was filed on the incident on August 4 under the Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code ("The smuggling of strategic resources".) Currently, the tanker "Naphthalan" is in the port of Makhachkala. The issue on a preventive measure against the captain of the tanker and his assistant, and the arrest of the vessel is ongoing.

The press service of "Caspar" does not comment on this fact. Meanwhile, an informed source told Turan, if it is about the crime, then it can be to try to understate the cost of transport, as the transportation of fuel oil cheaper than oil. However, such a fraud is only possible with the participation of the two sides. That is, if the talk is about stolen oil, it was stolen while production, and attempted to carry through the Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline. -02В-
