Tax authorities withdraw documents of the Union of Cinematographers (UC)
Up to 10 tax officials came today in the afternoon to the Union of Cinematographers, which is located in the Government House, and began to seize documents, Turan was told by the head of the UC, screenwriter Rustam Ibragimbekov.
"They said that the documents are being seized in the framework of the criminal case initiated on the alleged tax evasion. They also demanded the original documents and did not allow our employees to make copies," said Ibragimbekov.
Asking the question if the actions of tax officers were grounded, the playwright said that he considers what is happening, is a show of force.
"I think this is due to my latest interview, which refers to the creation of the National Council and the nomination of a single candidate of the democratic public in the presidential election, and a must-win," said the playwright.
Secretary of the Union of Cinematographers, Rasim Balayev at 17:30, told Turan, that the seizure of documents continues. "They are interested in the documents, receiving and delivery. We do not say anything. We do not know when the inspection will be over," said the famous actor.
Observers believe that the authorities are looking for a new "crime" in the seized documents and try to use it to block sociopolitical activity of Ibragimbekov, which turned into a real political force able to unite all opponents of the ruling regime in Azerbaijan. -02В-
