The Azerbaijan-EU consultations
On January 26-27 in Baku were consultations in the framework of a joint meeting of the EU-Azerbaijan Subcommittee. During the consultation they discussed a wide range of issues in the field of transport, energy, environment, human rights, and others. These issues are an integral part of the future agreement between the EU and Azerbaijan.
On Monday in Baku will arrive a high-ranking delegation from Brussels, which will hold high-level talks with the Azerbaijani leadership, said in an interview with reporters Dirk Schuebel, Head of the Eastern Partnership Bilateral division.
According to him, the delegation will be headed by Christian Danielsson, Director General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations in the European Commission), and Thomas Mayr-Harting, Managing Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the European External Action Service. The delegation of the Azerbaijani authorities in Brussels will present a draft document, which includes a list of priorities for future partnership, said Schuebel. Referring to the outcome of the talks, Schuebel gave them a positive assessment, noting the interest of the Azerbaijani side in the development of cooperation with European Union.-02В-

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times.
