The Azerbaijani government does not comply with the ECHR decision in the case of Ilkin Rustamzadeh
Baku/17.04.18/Turan: The Azerbaijani government does not comply with the decision of the European Court of Human Rights on the case of activist of the NIDA Movement, Ilkin Rustamzade, said the attorney Neymat Kerimli. According to him, the deadline for execution of the decision and payment of compensation to the applicant, who has been in jail for 5 years, expired in December 2017.
However, until now no compensation has been paid and, in connection with this, the lawyer wrote a complaint to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. On May 6, 2014, the court deprived him of his liberty for eight years. The appeal was rejected on December 16, 2014. Arrested together with him seven people have long been released. After the arrest of Rustamzade, his parents' health worsened seriously, and they needed qualified medical care. However, the family has no funds. -06D--
