Baku/26.06.21/Turan: The Council of Europe has published a new series of information certificates on countries that provide repors on the implementation by each member state of the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

"The implementation of the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights is crucial for successful realization of provisions of the international system for human rights protection in Europe which is unprecedented worldwide," said Maria Pejcinovic Buric, Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

Over the last ten years, country information reports reveal a number of new cases, unfinished cases and cases closed by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in charge of the implementation of ECHR rulings by member states.

The figures are specified by a number of" leading " cases usually highlighting new structural or systemic issues, and recurring cases with an emphasis on issues that have already been identified by the ECHR, the press service of the Council of Europe said.

Note that the information covers the period from 2011 to June 14, 2021.

As for Azerbaijani cases, it is noted that the execution of up to 300 decisions of the ECHR began during this period.

In the meanwhile, control over the execution of the 41st case was closed. Of these, five were "leading", 36 were "recurring".

Currently, control over the execution of 248 decisions, including 46 "leading" and 202 "recurring" ones, is underway.

At the same time, there is a trend of toward rising number of "repetitive" cases the execution of which is delayed, continues.

In 2011, there were 22 such cases, 2012-38, 2013-48, 2014-72, 2015-102, 2016-115, 2017-143, 2018-131, 2019-155, 2020 - 190, 2021-202.

At the same time, in 2021, 11 new decisions of the ECHR entered the stage of execution.

To compare, up to 150 cases over 10 years in neighboring Geoirgia have entered the execution stage, including 85 fully executed. 84 out of 140 cases have been executed in Armenia— - 06D-
