Baku/16.09.13/Turan : European Broadcasting Union, the organizer of the musical contest "Eurovision", will verify the information about possible attempts to bribe the part of Azerbaijan and some other participating countries, according to “Independent.”
This topic was extensively discussed a few months ago , has recently been updated with the publication in the Swedish press. The source claimed that the representative of the Azerbaijani delegation in a private conversation confessed to buying votes in other countries. He allegedly also offered "the amount for which you can live for a year " in exchange for the high evaluation by the jury.
Coordinator of the "Eurovision" Sietse Bakker, commenting on the rumors of bribery, assured that they will be tested , Mirror writes. If the information on violation of the contest rules is confirmed, sanctions will be applied.
Earlier charges against Azerbaijan appeared in the Lithuanian press . According to the portal 15min.lt, two men organized among Lithuanians buying votes in favor of the Azerbaijani participant of "Eurovision" . However, the Lithuanian Prosecutor's Office concluded that "there is not a grounds for pre-trial investigation."
