The Foreign Minister and his two deputies were awarded the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
Baku/08.07.23/Turan: On July 8, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order "On awarding diplomatic ranks to employees of the diplomatic service of the Republic of Azerbaijan." According to the document, the head of state awarded the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his two deputies – Elnur Mammadov and Fariz Rzayev.
Deputy Head of the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the UN Tofig Musayev was awarded the rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the first class.
Two more diplomats Emil Safarov and Samir Sharifov were awarded the rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the second class.
The presidential decree was signed on the eve of the professional holiday of diplomats celebrated on June 9 in Azerbaijan – the Day of the Diplomat. ---06B---

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times. According to relatives, the police conducted a search of her apartment.
