The Iranian-Russian military exercises in the Caspian Sea
Iran has sent warships to the ports of Astrakhan and Baku "for the expansion of ties in the sphere of defense," and declared its readiness to conduct exercises with the Russian Navy in the Caspian Sea, the Iranian agency FARS.
In an interview on October 18, Iranian Navy Captain Ahmad Reza Bakeri announced the beginning of a campaign of three Iranian warships in Astrakhan. "The flotilla, consisting of the destroyer "Davamand" and missile "Jhoskhan" and "Peykan" arrive in Russia," he said.
In addition to Russia, the Iranian ships have also been sent to Azerbaijan for "the expansion of ties in the sphere of defense and assessment personnel of the fleet and arms," - said Bakeri.
On August 11 the Iranian missile destroyer "Davamand" and the ships of the Russian Navy conducted joint military exercises near the Iranian port of Anzali.
