The National Council holds a rally at the monument to Rasulzadeh

Baku / 31.01.18 / Turan: Members and supporters of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) of Azerbaijan held a rally on January 31 at the monument to Mammad Emin Rasulzade in the village of Novkhani on the occasion of the 134th anniversary of his birth. In the speeches of the participants of the event it was noted that despite the decision of the authorities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the APR, they do not respect the memory of the founder of the republic.

Ibrahim Ibrahimli, a member of the NCDF Coordination Center, recalled, Nasibbek Yusifbeyli, Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation, in his letter asked for money from his father. Unlike the Government of the Republic of Afghanistan, the current government is "predatory", he said.

Leader of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) Ali Kerimli noted that this year is significant for the 100th anniversary of the APR and the 80th anniversary of the leader of the national liberation movement of the late 20th century, Abulfaz Elchibey.

The current authorities have achieved that they included the country in the international "black lists" of corrupt officials and human rights violators and usurped power, Kerimli said.

Jamil Hasanli, the chairman of the NCDF, also accused the authorities of not respecting the memory of the leaders of the ANR.

"There are a lot of monuments, but this power did not have enough conscience, to erect a monument to the founders of the Academy of Sciences," Hasanli said. In his view, the authorities are also insincere in the decision to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the APR.

"This document mentions all the prominent representatives of the intelligentsia, beginning with Bakikhanov, and further Heydar Aliyev was named. As if the APR appeared from the ground, and there was no struggle for independence," Hasanli said. -05B06--
