The next meeting of the working group on the legal status of the Caspian Sea
The 31st meeting of the special working group on harmonization of the Convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea at the level of deputy foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan is taking place in Ashgabat on December 17-18.
Azerbaijan was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov, the press service of Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.
Despite the agreement in the legal status of the Caspian Sea a number of issues, the main question remains open - delimitation of the coastal sovereign zones, as well as the regulation of fisheries, shipping and military activities.
Previously the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Environment in the Caspian and security cooperation were signed. -06D--
