The opposition protest moved to Fountain Square
The opposition has decided to change the venue of the protests on December 10 to mark International Human Rights Day. Originally they scheduled the action in front of the Parliament at 14:00. However, due to the refusal to authorize the rally by the City Hall, the organizers decided to postpone the action for Monday at 14.00 at Fountain Square, told Turan the Rally Committee's member, an activist of the party Musavat Mustafa Hajibeyli.
The initiator of the action on the International Day of Human Rights is the Musavat party. This decision was upheld also by the Public Chamber.
The action will take place under the slogans: "Freedom to political prisoners!", "No restrictions on freedom of assembly," "Dissolve falsified parliament," "Freedom of thought, speech and expression has no boundaries," "Freedom of conscience - the right of everyone!" and "Respect the human rights".
In turn, the General Directorate of Police in Baku warned that if there are attempts of holding uncoordinated protests, the action will be stopped.
On Friday, a group of the organizers have been summoned to the main police headquarters in Baku, where the deputy head of the agency Sahlab Baghirov and the Deputy Attorney of Baku Fazil Hasanaliev made them alert. -06B -
