The police stopped the protest in front of the Israeli Embassy
Baku / 08.06.18 / Turan: On Friday night, police stopped a rally in front of the Israeli Embassy on the occasion of the Quds Day, celebrated on the last Friday of the month of Ramadan by Muslims in solidarity with the Palestinian people and against the occupation of Jerusalem.
Rovshan Ahmedli, one of the organizers of the picket, the leader of the Islamic resistance movement for the liberation of Karabakh, was detained before the action, when he left the house.
He was taken to the 7th branch of the Binagadi district police department and released after the action was over. In the police, Ahmadli was told about the inadmissibility of holding an unauthorized action.
Ahmadli himself in a conversation with a correspondent of Turan said that freedom of assembly is guaranteed by the Constitution. On the other hand, the organizers in advance notified the city administration, which considered the holding of the picket "inexpedient".
"We just wanted to peacefully protest the occupation of Jerusalem, Israel's ignoring the resolutions of the UN Security Council. This is also true for Azerbaijan, which was also subjected to Armenian aggression and occupation.
We believe that the resolutions of the UN Security Council regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the Karabakh conflict and all other issues must be fulfilled," Ahmadli said.
He noted that the police detained about 15 protesters who were taken to the 27th and 29th police stations of the Yasamal district. By 17.30 from the 27th department all detainees were released. -06B--
