The Prosecutor General`s Office warned the media in connection with publications about the murder of the surgeon
Baku/08.05.23/Turan: A criminal case has been opened under Article 120.1of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (premeditated murder) on the fact of the murder of plastic surgeon Turkyan Gunduz on May 7.
Her husband, Turkish citizen Muhammet Gunduz, was detained as the accused, the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan said.
The agency stated that a number of media outlets, violating the Article 14.1.8 of the Media Law, made public information concerning the personal and family life of the victim.
According to the requirements of the Code of Criminal Procedure, information on the progress of the preliminary investigation may be made public only with the permission of the investigating authority or the court.
"We ask the media and users of social networks to be sensitive in this matter, comply with the requirements of the law, refrain from publishing unrefined and distorted information," the Prosecutor General's office the statement said.
It should be noted that a lot of videos of the murdered woman and her husband appeared on the network. According to publications, the reason for the murder was jealousy and extramarital relationships. ---16B06---

On November 19, the Sabail District Court of Baku granted the prosecution's request to extend the pretrial detention of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov for another four months, his lawyer, Rovshan Rahimov reported. According to the lawyer, the defense considers Abilov’s detention to be unjustified and disputes the charges brought against him. Abilov himself also rejected the accusations.
